The GM's Chair

Think like a GM. Make the call.

The GM's Chair: pick the club you're running, three team cards with payroll and prospects

The opportunity

Fans debate front-office decisions constantly, but rarely get to feel the constraints behind them: service time, payroll thresholds, arbitration, draft pools. Those rules are what make the job hard — and interesting.

The GM's Chair puts users in the seat for four seasons with two decisions a season, then grades them on more than the standings. It's a simulation designed to teach as much as entertain, with a classroom mode built in.

The experience

What you can do with it.

  1. 01

    Pick your club

    Choose a big-market contender, a bubble team, or a small-market rebuild.

  2. 02

    Real mechanics

Decisions are built on collective bargaining concepts — service time, the tax, Rule 5, qualifying offers.

  3. 03

    Delayed consequences

A call made in Year 1 can surface as a free-agency filing in Year 4.

  4. 04

    Three-axis grade

Scored on competitive record, financial health and front-office understanding.
